that game on metro defense was the first time in a long time that i have seen the attackers stopped on the first base. I was really stoked when that happened because that was not bad team. Would have played some more but my internet has been acting up lately and decided not to work again ):

Hey gun smoke, does it show anywhere that your NAT type is open? It should be open. Me and tacks ran into a hell of time with this. We used to live together... And when we started playing one of our NAT types would switch to closed. Oh it was horrible I wouldn't be able to join games or I'd be kicked unexpectedly. We ended up going through a port forwarding expedition... Then through several different routers... We finally settled on a big netgear router because it was able to deal with the net load, after this we were both open. What a nightmare that was. But it was all based on DNS issues. Attachments:

this pretty much sounds like whats happening to me, and i remember back when i used to play halo i would get notifications telling me that my nat type is closed. How do you get an open nat type, and what is nat?

Dude we were poking around like blind men in the dark and it took us forever to find the door!! Get the make and model of your router... Do an Internet search on port forwarding for that router or something to that effect... You will find an ip address... I.e 198.174.1.1.... Whatever that ip is type it into the address bar> enter... From here you will see a wide variety of options but don't start messing around just yet.... If your router has been secures by you have your password ready. Then do a secondary search on open nat type for Xbox and router combination.... This is as far as I can lead you. The rest is following the instructions but you'll likely find a variety of instructions to solve your issue and you may even have to try them all (enter nightmare). The nat is the way your console talks to your router (something like that) DNS is how your console talks with the rest of the world... So the nat is key if you are indeed suffering from this issue. It sound like it just never got open and playing with a bunch of peeps in parties could have exposed the issue again.

Mr muddkill or tacks, what did you do to be able to open up your Nat type for both of you? Was it just the router? What kind?

Man I'm telling you when we got that router and plugged it in (can't remember if there was an install cd, likely) our problems vanished. From then on I was always open. It was like the light shone down upon us! LOL It actually took me a while to believe it, as we went through the port forwarding nightmare with the other 2 routers we'd get me open... Then tacks would log on to find he was closed... Then we couldn't get him back open and when we did.... I'd close again... That all went away.
